Out here on the farm, my kids are always exploring, digging, collecting, and generally making adorable chaos everywhere they go. I like to keep gift-giving simple with my “want, need, do, read, wear, share” system. It keeps things balanced and way less overwhelming. So here are a few of our very favorite kid-approved treasures this year.
Trust me, these are all big wins around here.
WANT: Mosaic Stepping Stone Kit
This one is pure fun. My kids love anything they can create and immediately show off, and this kit lets them design their very own stepping stone for the garden. It’s messy in the best way and becomes a sweet little keepsake that actually lives out in the farm paths.
NEED: Kids Gardening Tools
If your kids are constantly stealing your real gardening tools (same), these pint-size ones are such a lifesaver. They’re sturdy, bright, and actually usable, perfect for little helpers who want to dig in right beside you.
DO: Wildcraft! Herbal Adventure Cooperative Board Game
This game is basically farm life in a box. It teaches kids about herbs and plants while you all work together instead of competing. My kids get so into it, and I love watching them learn without even realizing they’re learning.
READ: Backpack Explorer 5-Book Set
These little guidebooks are gold for curious kiddos. Each one focuses on a different part of the outdoors: birds, bugs, trees, rocks, you name it. My kids grab these on their way out the door and suddenly every walk becomes an adventure.
WEAR: Kids Explorer Vest and Hat
If you want instant explorer energy, here it is. My kids put these on and immediately transform into tiny park rangers. So many pockets for treasures… which, yes, usually means rocks, leaves, or the occasional mystery item I do not ask follow-up questions about.
SHARE: Borescope Camera Toy
This little gadget is shockingly cool. The kids use it to look down burrows, between rocks, under logs, basically anywhere I can’t (or won’t) stick my face. It’s a fun way for them to share the weird and wonderful things they discover around the farm.
These gifts have brought so much joy around here, even while the farm is still getting up and going and I love that they keep my kids curious, creative, and connected to the outdoors.
